Menchhiyam Hydropower Ltd is a forward-thinking Independent Power Producer (IPP) established with a mission to develop sustainable and eco-friendly hydropower solutions in Nepal. The company is currently developing the Upper Piluwa Khola-2 Hydroelectric Project (4.72 MW), a run-of-river project located in Chainpur Municipality, Sankhuwasabha District, Koshi Province.

This project, strategically positioned on Piluwa Khola—a tributary of the Arun River—aims to contribute to Nepal's growing energy demand through clean and renewable power generation.

Our approach is grounded in technical excellence, environmental stewardship, and strong community engagement. Though the project was successfully commissioned in Falgun 2080 B.S., a devastating flood in Asar 2081 B.S. caused major damage to the plant. Since then, we have been working tirelessly to restore the project to full operational status.

At Menchhiyam Hydropower Ltd, our vision has always been rooted in sustainable development and energy security for Nepal. The successful commissioning of the Upper Piluwa Khola-2 Hydroelectric Project marked a significant step forward in our mission to harness clean, renewable energy from Nepal's natural resources.

While the devastating flood of 2081 B.S. posed unforeseen challenges, it also reaffirmed our resilience and commitment. Today, we are moving ahead with strong momentum in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the project. With the dedication of our technical teams and support from our valued partners, we aim to bring the plant back into operation soon—stronger and more robust than before.

We thank all our stakeholders, investors, community members, and team members for their continued trust and support. Together, we are not only rebuilding a project but reinforcing our commitment to a greener and more self-reliant Nepal.
